The Effortless Living Community

In our online Effortless Living Community, you’ll get daily support and guidance for using effortless mindfulness to make whatever change you want to make in your life. And every step of the way, you’ll be learning to deepen your practice of effortless mindfulness that, over time, awakens a profound sense of ease and calm, a feeling of being more connected to yourself and others, and a sense of child-like wonder that so many of us lose touch with as adults.

A Whole Different Approach to Change

We’ve probably all been overwhelmed with advice about what we should eat, how we should exercise, how we should meditate to make us feel less stressed and more peaceful. Maybe you even tried doing some of those things but didn’t think they helped, and found that worrying about doing them or whether you were doing them right was just more stress.

Why does doing things we know are good for us have to be so darn hard? Well, maybe it doesn’t. Maybe there’s something fundamentally off about how we go about trying to do them. 

What if there were a radically different way of going about changing our lives - a wa y that was gentler, more natural and much more enjoyable?

Well actually, there is - and the key to that different way is a simple practice called effortless mindfulness.

But because it’s so radically different than what we’re used to, and because the habit of stressing ourselves out to try to control everything and everyone in our lives is so deeply ingrained, it can take a lot of support to learn the practice in a way that is relaxed, fun and playful - and doesn’t create more stress!

From Restless Nights to Effortless Sleep

In addition to all the practices that are specific for sleep, the course includes learning basic breathing, relaxation and other practices that calm the nervous system and which are fundamental for effortless sleep. If you’re not yet familiar with these practices, it can be helpful to participate in our Effortless Living Community for a month or two first, to help you get a good grounding in these basics. That way,, when you start the sleep course, you’ll be able to focus more fully on the techniques that are specifically about helping you get a full, restorative night’s sleep on a regular basis.

The course provides you with a simple and very practical understanding of how your brain works to create stress, illness, suffering, and all kinds of imbalances in your life. It guides you through a wide variety of breathing, relaxation and effortless mindfulness practices that work to change the physical structure of your brain so that it naturally begins to generate more ease, calm, and effectiveness in virtually every aspect of your life.

You’ll learn how your brain and nervous system evolved to function in a balanced way, and how that functioning has been thrown off-balance by the stresses and strains of the modern world. You’ll learn both inner and outer approaches to rebalancing your brain programming so that it can do its job of improving your health, your ability to learn and be productive at work, and of creating an experience of deep inner peace, calm and happiness which we call “open, heartful awareness.”
